These hell-raising oiks may not be the newest kids on the block, but with new album ‘The Glorious Dead’ they’ve undeniably added something special to the UK’s metal canon. Melodic but punishing, their hardcore / metal hybrid is borne through a love of classic influences and slick ability – they’ve certainly not wasted their eight years together, honing their craft to create an album that shows the clichéd metalcore masses how you can bring the tunes without sounding like a bunch of teenagers with a guarded love for Andrew Lloyd Webber. Chances are you’ve caught them live before, seeing as they’ve supported everyone from The Black Dahlia Murder to Fightstar and My Chemical Romance – and hopefully we’ll be seeing a lot more of these guys this year too.
