Two years after their acclaimed debut album ‘Lights’, there will be no “difficult second album” worries for Brigade. Their first full-length was packed with anthems, but ‘CMWF’ easily matches them. It comes as no surprise then, that both the instantly gratifying pop songs (‘Pilot’, ‘Stunning’) and the hard-rock moments (‘What Are You Waiting For’, ‘Asnine’) are spot on. The difference, perhaps, is that Brigade have thrown in a few curve balls along the way. Stand-out track ‘Res Head’ combines a brilliant chorus with Muse-style guitar work, while other songs experiment with atmospherics and melancholy. It’s just the kind of subtle evolution that makes them a British talent truly capable of a long and exciting career.

This album is brilliant. I don't agree and Pilot and Stunning are 'Pop' songs as such, but this is a great review.
