Ghost Of A Thousand frontman Tom Lacey (the handsome chap on the far right of the picture) has got in touch with Rock Sound to offer his tips for 2008 as we speculate about the year ahead in the current issue of the magazine.
First up, some brothers called Lavotchkin. ''They're good friends of ours,'' admits the frontman. ''Plus they produce the most nightmarishly noisey hardcore, it's fucking brutal and they're live show is immense .I don't think there is a British band to match them. They've got a split with Joseph out on Midmarch at the moment that everyone should own.''

Next up, Dead Swans. ''Brighton lads and they've got Legacy and Turn Cold members in their ranks,'' says Lacey. ''I'm trying not to compare any of these bands to others but these guys have got a really cool evil hardcore thing going on, kind of ' Walk The Plank' esque, really fast short songs . Furious stuff. Just signed to 30 Days Of Night and fucking good luck to them too.''

Finally, The Mirimar Disaster. ''I Know they've already had an album out and a bit of press but I don't think we've even begun to realise just how good these guys are,'' continues Lacey. ''I eagerly await to hear their new record which I know they're writing at the moment, if it's anything like the last one it will be monolithically huge in every way. Also, it's drummer Slomo's fault that our Andy wears flat caps so much, so they have to be in here.''
