David Desrosiers, bass player of Simple Plan (chap in the middle of the picture) got in touch with Rock Sound to offer us his tips for success in 2008:

To begin with an obvious choice, Green Day. ''I think it's amazing what they achieved with American Idiot three years ago,'' the bassist admits. ''And I'm not worried about them as they will be heading in the studio super soon and hopefully have a record sometime in 2008! Billie Joe will always remain one of my favorite songwriters ever.''

''Next up I pick Billy Talent,'' adds Desrosiers. ''Well what can I say, they are one of the few original bands remaining. They don't sound like no one else out there, and they will for sure keep it fresh on their upcoming record which will hopefully hit us in 08!''

Thirdly, Paramore. ''They proved to everyone in America they could rock people's faces off,'' he remarks. ''They are heading to Europe early 08 to rock you guys, just like they do everywhere they go! Check them out!''

A slightly dark horse next with David giving Cobra Starship the nod. ''I knew about them for a while but never spent time to really discover them. This time around I did just that with their new record, Viva La Cobra! They make me wanna dance instantly.''

Lastly, Gob. ''I've known these guys for over 5 years now and loved them from the start,'' admits Desrosiers. ''Tom always finds a way to sing the songs with a very original approach to his phrasing! They have a new record that just came out called Muertos Vivos. Worth checking out for sure.''
