They weren’t kidding! Mariachi El Bronx is here, and Mexican-inspired to the max! Plus, with their penchant for dressing up (check out the second page of the The Bronx’s ‘my pics’ section at www.myspace.com/thebronx for their version of The Breakfast Club) - it’s no surprise that the Californian band of amigos have matching Mariachi outfits to boot! Check it out here:
The 2008 version of the festival is using a different area of the site (due to a race or something) and thus Rock Sound spent the first few hours of the day moaning about guest parking, moaning about the positioning of the press accreditation tent, moaning about how far we had to walk to get into the site, moaning about how far the second stage was from the mainstage and moaning that all we were doing was moaning (without noting the irony of it all).
Gripes aside a good few hours were spend in the press area encouraging Brandan from Bleeding Through to bitch about Trustkill, angering Johnny Truant with baseless accusations about a rivalry that did not exist (in their opinions) and generally trying to stoke up mindless and trivial rivalries between bands. The joyous fruits of that labour will be on this site sometime in the next few days!
After an off the record chat with a former cover star about a personal displeasure at some record company politicking initiated at the request of aforesaid unmentionable band some music was enjoyed. The resulting judgements will be available in the magazine’s Download coverage next month. Dinner was chowed down with Mrs Rock Sound and then brief attempts were made to entice Brigade into a war of words and without any prompting Madina Lake frontman Nathan Leone savaged Coheed And Cambria.
All before sundown. Busy day. Video proof coming soon.
Both I and Features Editor Darren Sadler are overjoyed at the below news…Ooh Crikey:
LAWNMOWER DETH, the long-defunct late ’80s/early ’90s English comedy/thrash metal band which released three-and-a-half well-regarded albums, has issued the following update:
“Ladies and gentlemen of the jury… against our better judgement, and possibly the only time we will do this… ee have agreed to reform for a one-off show in the UK later this year.
“I know, I know… we were well past our sell-by date when we split back in ‘93-94, and it’s quite possibly ‘a stupid and futile gesture’ to mark our entering into midlife crisis territory. But the opportunity that we have just been offered is just too unreal to turn down.
“God only knows how it will all pan out, but if it all comes together, we will be opening for a great band at a large venue in London sometime in November.
“I can’t say much more at the moment as it’s not confirmed, but we are all very excited to get this chance to have one last fish dance.
“It may also be a disaster of ‘Spinal Tap’ proportions.. Whichever way it goes, it should be a blast!”
So Hayley from Paramore and Chad from New Found Glory are supposed to be dating…Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis all but confirmed it with the below picture he took when at a recent H20 show:
Fancy them both being at the show…Coincidence I think not.
But, spare H a thought, her ex-stepfather is trying to sell her stuff through ebay, check out her response…
ebay revenge.
so… i’ve decided to do this. it was only half thought out but i’m doin it anyways.
i saw that post someone made about the “handwritten book” on ebay. yes, it’s mine. hahah. i don’t remember being a sad child but i definitely loved horror films at a really young age. i guess that was reflected in this particular assignment. anyway, that’s not exactly what i’m posting about. i’m actually posting about the seller of this item. it happens to be my ex-stepfather. who is… well… insane, hence the reason he is my EX-stepfather. so, while i can laugh at the fact that a bit of my past has surfaced, i have to admit i felt like throwin shit when i saw the username. to be honest, i’d love to post his full name. where he works. possibly a phone number??? then all of you could show him what it feels like when your personal life is out there for everyone to put their hands on. fortunately for him… living with him for 7 years wasn’t quite enough to make me turn out just like him… or was it?
don’t buy it. i’m gonna buy it. hahaha.
